About this program

The City of Syracuse receives Community Development Block Grant funds from HUD each program year. The Department of Neighborhood and Business Development uses CDBG to support agencies and projects that benefit low- and moderate-income residents through neighborhood revitalization, economic development, public facilities, and community services.

Eligibility

Eligible nonprofits, public agencies, and community development partners serving low- and moderate-income Syracuse residents or qualifying neighborhoods.

Requirements

  • Meet HUD CDBG eligible activity and national objective rules
  • Submit proposal, project scope, budget, beneficiary data, and compliance documents through the city entitlement grant process
  • Comply with federal reporting, environmental review, procurement, labor standards, and civil rights requirements
