NSF SBIR/STTR Project Pitch
The required free first step before applying for NSF SBIR/STTR Phase I or Fast-Track funding. You submit a short online pitch and NSF tells you whether to write a full proposal.
About this program
The Project Pitch is a short online submission covering your technology innovation, technical objectives and challenges, market opportunity, and team. NSF staff typically respond in about 1-2 months; an invitation lets you submit a full Phase I or Fast-Track proposal, and invitations are valid for the next two submission deadlines. A declined pitch reflects program fit, not the value of the idea. Each company or individual may submit one pitch per submission window, two per 12 months, and three total for the same project. The pitch itself carries no funding.
Eligibility
Startups, small businesses, and individual entrepreneurs developing high-risk, deep technology who intend to apply for NSF SBIR/STTR funding.

- Technical Objectives and Challenges (up to 3,500 characters)
