BIA Indian Loan Guarantee and Insurance Program (ILGP) – Enrolled Tribal Members in Maryland
Federal loan guarantee program providing up to 90% guarantees on private lender loans to enrolled AI/AN tribal members and businesses with 51%+ Native American ownership; CRITICAL NOTE: Maryland has no federally recognized tribes; Maryland Native Americans who are enrolled members of a federally recognized tribe located in another state remain eligible; applies to Maryland residents who are enrolled in federally recognized tribes such as the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Lumbee Tribe, or other federally recognized tribes.

Eligibility
Maryland residents who are enrolled members of any federally recognized AI/AN tribe (regardless of state of tribal headquarters); business entities with at least 51% AI/AN ownership; project must benefit the economy of a reservation or service area or be near a reservation.
Requirements
- Enrolled member of a federally recognized AI/AN tribe (NOTE: no federally recognized tribes in Maryland)
- Maryland residents enrolled in out-of-state federally recognized tribes remain eligible
- At least 20% equity in the project being financed
