Ohio employers can use the federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit when hiring certified workers from disability-related target groups such as vocational rehabilitation referrals or SSI recipients.

Eligibility
Eligible applicants are Ohio employers, including disability-owned businesses, that hire workers who are certified members of WOTC target groups, including vocational rehabilitation referrals, qualified SSI recipients, and certain disabled veterans.
Requirements
- Hire a worker who may qualify under a WOTC disability-related target group.
- Complete IRS Form 8850 by the day the job offer is made.
- Submit certification paperwork to the state workforce agency within the required deadline.
